Default Engine Management Light Reset

Evening all!
Just wondering if there is a way to reset the engine management light with out diagnostics as I think I have fixed the problem but the light is still lit?
Thanks in advance

Hiya Leigh, if your lucky the mil will go out after a few start ups if the ecu doesn't 'see' any fault. hth

The light will go out if the fault is repaired and 3 drive cycles have been carried out which would have normally initiated the fault have been completed without further problems.

by disconnecting the battery the codes will clear putting out the mil.of course you wont see what they was but if the light dont come back on the ecm will be happy with what ever made the light come on in the first ,then run te car so ecm can check everything will take up to 20 cycles ,s long enough for the ecm to say if its happy or not .no lights is happy ,a light and its not .sometimes though the code is placed under pending codes so although its not enough to to have the light come on the ecm will be looking at it closely ...as i say justby disconnecting the battery will clear the codes stored but if bad will put light back on .
