Take it back to where it was repaired.

Sounds like a connector has come off behind the locking mechanism.

There is a connector that looks like a dog bone, or a double edged philips head screw driver that joins the key lock mechanism on the exterior handle to the door lock on the inside of the door. if this is not clicked back in place securely on both sides you won't be able to manually unlock the door.

It's not a massive job, but it's fiddley, so best bet is to take it back to whoever "repaired" it and get them to do it before the battery runs out in your fob!

Hi,

Can you explain to me how to do this because I have the same problem after I changed the drivers side door lock myself. I have no idea what I did wrong.

Tnx

Pic below of driver door lock you need to line up the star head into the lock barrel as above

With reference to this picture, i started investigating my oroblem with the doors not unlocking with the remote initially, and discovered that it wouldnt unlock with the key either.

Well the good news is that it now opens with the remote, but when i came to investigate the issue with the key lock the "star shaped rod" appears to be missing completely. Is this part of the outer door lock, part of the inner door lock, or is it a separate rod that should go between the 2 ?

Oh yes, and where can I get one?

Sadly not, but i have now found a good photo of one on ebay and fabricated one out of stiff wire. Key is now working, although it is a bit rough feeling.

It looks as though it is a separate link rod, because in arctics photo it was attached to one part and in the ebay photo it is attached to the other part, so hopefully can get one from a breaker.

Hi David.
Yes it is a link rod between the inner and out handle/lock let me take a look in the shed for you tomorrow if I have one it is your FOC Arctic

PS remembered I had one in the boot of the car so please PM me your address and I will get it sent off to you Monday morning, also these dog keys can and will only fit in one way, as the cross edge is larger on two sides pics below as always Arctic
