Default Flappy ???

Me and the missus watched Top Gear and saw a Lexus costing a third of a million pounds. "Ooohh" says the missus, "That's nice, but would I be allowed to drive one?" Resisting the obvious answer, I asked her why she asked. It seems it was because she only has an automatic licence. There are only two pedals on the Lexus, but you have to change gear manually with flappy paddles.
Honest answers please chaps, I may have to break it to her gently that she can't have one.

An Automatic is an automatic. If you have to manually change gear then it is a manual. Therefore paddle gear change is a manual. Good Luck

PS: Just get her an auto 75 or a few

Brothers DSG golf is an Auto on the logbook and auto on the tax. Its got the usual auto stick in the middle and a position on the right x or - up or down and buttons on the steering wheel,After about a week the novelty wore off and it been left in drive since, wasn't worth the extra IMO

SWMBO's Hyundai coupé is the same. It's auto but you can change gear manually if you want. She's never used it either.

My mother bought herself a wee Honda Jazz when my father died in 2007. It has the CVT gearbox which also comes with the option of using a 7 speed paddle shift mode.

We told my mum (she is 80) to just ignore that and stick it in "D". I think I am the only one who has ever used the paddleshift, and even then that has only been a couple of times. It is officially an Automatic though.
