Remapping?
Hi guys
thinking of remapping my 2.5 v6 zt, was wondering has anyone had experience of this on the 160, and what are the power gains? I have been superchips website and the gains in bhp seem small? Does anyone know of any good companies in the south east (apart from superchips) that people have had good reports from regarding remapping? |

most cars that don't have a turbo see only a small gain in bhp with remapping
as the engine cant suck much more air/fuel in than its already doing where with the turbo cars they up the boost and force the air in so you see more of a gain. what gains were superchips giving

I'm confused. The 2.5l V6 in ZT form is either 190 (manual) or 180 (automatic). The ZT160 was the turbo 1.8l 4 cyl engine. Anyway, I've had mine chipped via Superchips. 206bhp recorded. Approx 16bhp gained. What makes the difference though is the torque seems to come in earlier; I don't have to wait till the vis motors come to life at 3200 rpm for some acceleration. I've got a scan of the rolling road report somewhere, I'll post it up if you like.

TCS Performance (Google them for info), at J8 of the M11, 13 miles from M25, do re-maps.
I've not had one done myself, but went there to put mine on their rolling road last week. Whilst I was there he showed me the prints he did for a diesel citroen C4, raising it from 130 ish to 170. I asked what he reckoned he could do with mine. He went away and went on his PC for about 10 minutes, and came back with a prediction of raising it from 170 to about 194. Cost .... £225 ish. If that's any good to you, tell him that Dan with the ZT-T sent you, and let me know when you're going ... I might come along.

I belive the 160 was a de tuned 2.5 v6 with the longer legged final drive as per the 75, it was changed to the 1.8 turdo at around face lift time ( i Think.)

As a rough guide we used to look at around a 10% increase in HP and 15% for torque on a normally aspirated car and around 30% HP on a turbo car. Thats without doing masses of other mods, this is only a very loose estimate
