CDT Crankshaft pulley failure

I just pulled up on my drive and all of a sudden I heard this loud clattering noise which I realised was probably the crankshaft pulley, the noise stopped when I increased the engine revs.the car has done 156 K so I suppose it's done well!

I informed my trusty MGR mechanic and he said order up a new Corteco one and bring the car to him , but he is 25 miles away , he said it's OK to drive the car but It's just noisy.

I'm reluctant to drive the car at all until I have got the part the do the 25 miles to his workshop.

any advice on this please from the club Guru's?

Some years back , Eric from Belgium had a pulley failure in Dover visiting our national meet and had to drive to Somerset, arrived all ok but a bit noisy, so 25 miles should be achievable

It'll be OK, drove mine from cornwall back to lincs with a broken Crank pulley, and that was towing a caravan!

It was so bad the water temp would rise at revs above 2k, this was because the pulley was completely separated from the inner, God only knows how bit didn't fall off!!

Should be ok to drive 25 miles easy.
