common air con failure reasons
Last week I had my air con re-gassed, the mechanic at the Honda dealer thought a faulty relay was the issue. Having tested it I could not agree with that. I have done 200'ish miles and air con still ok.
Went back to dealer today for a check to see if a leak could be found. Chap thought there was dye on the condenser rad but I could not see it. I did notice some bubbling at one of the valves in the aluminium pipe when the blue cap was removed but this soon stopped. I am aware if air con not used seals can dry and leak. If re-gassed and used do they re-seal? Are there common faults on the diesel for air con failure? I think I will buy an ultra violet light, remove front bumper and see if I can see anything. If I cant and it fails again then a mobile air con mechanic as advised will be my next port of call. macafee2 |

Good news is I was not charged for the work done last week or this. I will take the front end off, get an ultraviolet light and see if I can see anything. If not then an air con specialist will be needed macafee2 |

The most common causes I have come across are
1. Low speed fan not working 2. Condenser leaking due to age 3. No gas in system!

Yes Mick, fins missing, cores bent and rotted away, best advice is to get a replacement from Jules if you suspect the condenser to be the issue.
