Default Should I cover

I have had my baby some six months ago. Waited a long time for it as I knew the owner and the history and my circumstances.

03 75club 1.8SE, one owner only used for a couple of miles to shop the odd day or two.

The car has only done 25k and because I have a company pickup the 75 will only be used on the odd weekend,or special days out probably when its dry etc.

Should I keep it covered as it lives outside?
Any advise and what cover would be gratefully recieved.

Regards to all

Andy

Do not cover up better to keep the fresh air on it.

Don't cover it as it will sweat regardsless if the cover has ventilation or not. Wind will make the cover rub where it touches. Cars are designed to do 100 plus in driving rain and snow, sitting in the open with no cover will do it no harm at all.

All that will happen is it will get dirty

I am now more confussed than ever....Oh the beauty of forums!

In the rain, hail . sleet . snow and "burning sun" she sits until the votes are counted.

Wish I had bought a run-a-round now.

If you are going to keep it covered for long periods, I would suggest you get a solar charger and connect it to the battery to keep your battery topped up.

Mine's kept outside all year - OK, used every day, the only drawback as I see it is having to de-ice it on winter mornings, but I do this with a fan heater in the cabin for 10minutes or so.

Just make sure that you've visited the valeting forum, given the car a good claying, and then added lots of protective coats of wax, etc.

Malcolm

EDIT: I now see there's a poll! Given a choice, I would keep mine in an open-ended carport - lots of ventilation, but protected from a lot of the elements. SWMBO's Clio lives in ours, I can't really grumble as the garage is taken up by my JZR and my workshop - oh, and the carport's a tad narrow for the 75 anyway.................
