Default Vehicle recalls

Well one vehicle has gone in with a long list of recalls - not bad for a 12yo car (previous owner didn't believe in dealers).

I took it for one last year but the dealer was awful thankfully they are now out of business (they didn't do all the recalls available which I only found out later how many there were and I asked them to update software which they charged for £132 which another recall would have covered grr-genuine need as it caused driveability issues).

Anyway recalls tried again - another dealer can't get the lambda sensor out - they requested I ok 107+vat plus a wait, I suggested an aftermarket they got one for £69. Not massively happy with it as original is fine but recall is for the cats and it is an old car - is this a legitimate cost that I'm liable for?

I suppose it depends on the manufacturer, I would of expected them to cover all costs of carrying out the recall.

Huum that is my thought but unsure - double guessing my quick decision to ask for aftermarket part as apparently even Bosch lambdas cause grief due to some weird bias voltage on particular engine.

It's a Chrysler @ a Jeep dealer . . .

Nothing to lose by calling or emailing the manufacturer customer services. Had you not needed the recall you wouldn’t of needed the sensor.
