Default clutch master cylinder.....

Hi all

After a breakdown i am trying to fit a clip on the clevis road, clutch master cyclinder.

the original clip has dissapeared or PO never fitted it properly.

i have purchased clip SYC101040 but seems to small, three required on diagram but looks top of pivot

i have ordered clip Clip SYC101030 which is clevis to brake pedal and only 1 on diagram. (so took a chance it may fit)

in other words Rimmers diagram is wrong and there is no clip for clutch, but i know it needs one!!.

can anyone advise which it should be....or am i missing something?

rimmers do not show any clip for cluch.....

i can see some other clips around the pedal box that do look larger than SYC101040...

or is there a knack to fitting these?, i am trying to push it on with fingers.

any help would be urgently appreciated as car is off road untill i can fix it!.

thanx

steve

Steve

I have what I think are some spare clips for the clutch pedal/MC clevis pin. Don't ask me the part number, but they are 18mm wide. If you want to try one, PM me your address and I will stick one in the post to you later today (the earlier the better, as I am leaving for the NEC Classic car show later today). They might fit- I think the clips for the pedal shaft and the clevis pin are slightly different sizes.

They push on by hand- just make sure you have the pin on the pedal arm pushed right through the eye in the end of the MC push rod, so that the 'slot' is exposed, then orientate the clip so that open end slides into the slot - they normally clip in quite easily. A bit of grease on the clevis helps

Cheers

Pete

The facelift has two different size clips used. I believe, from memory, that one is for end of pedals shaft (larger one) and the other is for attachment of MC pushrod to pedal. They are definitely different sizes on the facelift. They should just push on over the recessed ends on the shafts. As with anything master cylinder related, they are a pain in the back/neck (literally) to do!

Hi All

thank you for your replies, only just logged in.

managed to sort it...there are indeed 2 sizes on the facelift.

small and large.

the clutch clevis pin clip is the same as brake and not on rimmers diagram, definately the larger one.

a pig to do (especially when trying to fit wrong clip!!), nealt next to car with head under dash...

thank you again though

Regards

Steve
