Move south my Scottish friend we haven't had frosty mornings yet !!!!

Seriously you'll probably find that the plastic pipe work has come adrift ... under the steering wheel remove the facia (couple of screws) and have a look around and check all the pipes are in place.

Have you replaced the Pollen Filter recently? These clog up with all sorts of rubbish and restrict the flow of air into the car. The Filter is on the passenger side so maybe only a small amount of air is going through the filter and so it discharges into the passenger side but there's nothing left over to travel to the drivers side?

Last car I bought came with a full service history - when you put the fan on it smelt really bad and when I took the Pollen Filter out mushrooms were practically growing on it. So much for the previous owner paying for a service - soon replaced the filter and all the smells were gone.
