To remove the gear lever gaiter,
Remove the gearknob by pulling up sharply.
Using a blunt edge gently lever up the Walnut surround.
Handbrake, i think you may have to remove handle similar to gear knob.
The gaiter part is gently prised out as above also 6-7 clips.

Gearknob/gaiter is as stated above.

For the handbrake you don't have to remove the handle. Just unclip the gaiter from the centre console - start at the top, then unhook the gaiter at the front. Turn the gaiter inside-out and carefully slide it off the lever.

This procedure taken from Haynes manual

The gaiter is held onto the handle by a very strong elastic band - the band will become visible when you turn the gaiter inside out. Be careful not to lose or break it!

But if you do, a cable tie works just as well. Believe me. I know.

It's actually an O'ring - you can get one from a shop selling plumbing!

Regarding moving the gear knob, it's best if you sit astride the centre console, so that you are pulling straight up, rather than from one side.

A bit like pulling a nail out, pull it out the way it went in.

Hi Mike
Sorry for the late reply.
No, but it is an exact fit ie. the same diameter as the grove it sits in.
Hope this helps.
