Jeez!

Presumably all due to the Vauhall driver being very careless?

Yeah the vauxhall was actually parked inappropriately as half on road and half on the curve. The V6 Driver swerved into it to avoid collision with oncoming traffic knocking the rear tyre of the vauxhall and pushing it on to the road.
I guess both cars are total loss but there are uncountable number of astras around.

Hang on, the Vauxhall was parked up?
If it was, the Rover should have given way to oncoming traffic and waited behind the Vauxhall surely

Well the ambulance attended but left short-time .I'm thinking he was OK. He was still in shock.

Edit: all front airbags were defeated and slight smoke was coming from the dash surrounds.

He must of hit that at speed to do that damage?

Can it be repaired with a new hub?

Looking at the angle and impact, I wonder whether the wheel came off and caused the accident. Years ago I lost the same wheel from a Vauxhall Cresta at 50mph, and it was not funny, although I did manage to steer into a side road, without hitting anything. That was at 5pm, the RAC came to rescue me at Midnight!
