Default scalextric collectors?

Hi guys, i have a mint condition F1 scalextric. It's never been opened and still in it's original interior shrink wrap. Does anybody know the best way to sell this as i'd love it to go to a collector and not someone who's going to give it their kids and trash it.

cheer, si

The car will have a C reference number on it. if you can post this reference it will help identify the car accurately. Ebay is pretty good for selling scalextric. There are a few clubs for scalextric but the NSCC is the main one. There were a few cars sold in shrink wrap, but not many.

i'd like to know more just in case I may be interested

It's not just the car, it's the whole set. I can't get to the cars as they are shrink wrapped.

sorry, I misunderstood I thought it was just a car you had. The box may have a c number on the side of it. Come to think of it modern scalextric cars I don't think have he c number on the underside of the cars. makes identifying them all the ore difficult.

can you add a picture of the set?

this is the best site I know for identifying cars and box sets
http://www.ukslotcars.co.uk/scalextricweb/disc1_frm.htm

there is a section for sets and then a sub section for years

C1035 is a 1999 Formula 1 set according to his database. So it's pushing 17 years old now.

Just seen this. I used to have a set similar when I was a kid. Absolutely loved it.

Wow! that looks in mint condition.

I still have my original Scalextric from 1978, the version with the C919 large round blue transformer, all made in Great Britain (now 38 years old). I never trashed mine, I still have all my Tonka and Matchbox collection, and original Subbuteo teams from the 1970's and 80's (about 95 teams).

I will be keeping it all for my daughters to flog-on in another 20+ years, should be worth quite abit by then.

I would be inclined to say put it on ebay with a reserve price.
