Sadly Johan Cryuff has died.

I was lucky enough to see him play in the flesh at Ibrox in 1973.

A real genius with the ball.

Never had the pleasure of seeing him in the flesh - even TV couldn't disguise the skills he had - RIP

As a 16 yr old i went to Ibrox to see Rangers v Ajax in the European Super Cup Final .
A young Johan Cryuff was in the Ajax team who were European cup holders and my team were Cup Winners Cup holders .

My lasting memory of the game was the trickery of Cryuff.

He turned our players inside out and walked away from them and made a killing pass .
The ball appeared to stick to his foot and be dragged around then made to do his bidding .

He made the game what it is today .

Thanks for the memories.
