Default shocked at the state of his tyres

went to the local convenience store last friday for a few tinny's....as you do and noticed the state of the owner's son's mitsubishi warrior's front tyres, they were down to the cord on both front edges ...i swiftly made them aware of it and he said 'i know there bad,i'l get it sorted'....just been now for a few bits (no tinny's yet,it's too early ) and guess what??? same tyres on ....i give up,i told them again they'd throw the book at him if he was stopped by plod.....driving like that in this icy weather is beyond stupid

That's simply dangerous and not acceptable. You've tried the friendly word of advice. I'd be making an anonymous call to the local police I'm afraid. He's putting everyone around him at risk.

That's pretty irresponsible to let them get that bad. I don't know if it's the design of these low profile tyre's these days but they don't seem to last very long at all I've just replaced two on the front of my daughters car just over 6 months after she had two tyre's put on & she doesn't do a high mileage!

You may be lucky and get the police to check it out, but when I spoke to the Police recently about a car that is often parked on the road close to my home that has had no tax or test since October 2014 they suggested I pass the vehicle details to the DVLA.
Cheers
