Default Can bus system

HI, I have a few questions about the canbus system on our cars.
1, am i right in thinking that the satnav wont read the mpg ect.. as this data is not sent on the k-bus to the nav unit?, if so if i could get the data added to the line it should work?

2. if the engine ecu is removed what ipk fault lights would be on?

3. what systems on the car need data from the engine ecu and what data is it?

4. does the lsm have the ability to have its lights turned on via canbus or would the lsm need reprograming?

5. i have found away to run another ecu on the car and placing its data on the canbus system, engine rpm, temp, error light, and well any other thing the car needs from the the engine or its ecu.
Does anyone know what is needed to power a ipk up externally of the car so as to test my canbus system on?

Thanks
