Default Before PC took over

This was originally shown on BBC TV back in the 70's. Ronnie Barker could say all this without a snigger, though God knows after how many takes.

The irony is,
BBC received not one complaint.

I found it extremely funny and coming from a comic genius as well

But...........without trying to sound a killjoy, surely it is about the best example of evasion of the swear filter seen to date !

If we are told it's a family forum and you can't say Tom, 'Richard' or Harry then I can't see how this is allowed to pass

As said, it's brilliantly funny and as adults we can fully appreciate the humour but we are told that circumnavigating the swear filter goes against the 'family friendly' forum!

Sorry for the negativity but if we have rules I guess they need to be applied equally.

Way back then when he did this monologue, not even Mary Whitehouse had a problem with it. I'd say that just about trumps most objections. He once came up with this gem..`today a car mounted the pavement outside Mary Whitehouse's home, so she threw a bucket of cold water over it` Sheer genius and much missed.

I'm not objecting to it as such and I find it funny as well.

What I'm pointing out is that written down as it there the play on words are replacing strong swear words yet if anyone does something similar on here it is immediately removed and the perpetrator reminded that we are a family forum and not to try and circumnavigate the swear filter !

You can't have it both ways and if you were to read that out and your little child says....."But Dad, what is a forrible hucker ?" Might take some explaining

That is the reason we are told not to do the same on here so we either allow it or don't allow it.
It doesn't bother me either way as I haven't got kids and I'm not easily offended, them is the rules we are told though

Ok, I have to agree that it is funny, I also agree we have standards & rules regarding evading the swear filter, so I've removed the text from general view, & inserted a link to read if you want. Hope that meets both sides Hmmm, link not working
Trying to get a link working, not having much luck
