Default If this story is true!

Just read this and it makes my blood boil.

Mankind at it's worst in my opinion.

Just when you think that the human race has hit rock bottom, we then manage to excel ourselves!

Well I did headline "If this story is true" on the other hand, even the mail would make sure there's some truth before naming the company concerned.

Man is a very sick species, we have little compassion for supposedly lower animals. Totally shocking if true.

Doesn't it make you all warm inside reading what we as the custodians of this world are capable of, you'd think they would have moved the chimps to somewhere they could live comfortably ffs

I read a book on this some years ago about this and what some pharmaceutical companies and research centres did to monkeys - i.e. putting them on an island then infecting them.

The book made a couple of conclusions that if true means that we came very close to a really terrible and terrifying possibility.

What they said was that in doing this they forced the primates to live in far too close proximity to the sick ones - and these sick ones had been artificially made sick with pathogens they would not normally be exposed to - and as a result the decease mutated and managed to cross the species barrier.

Ebola was the result.

Scary stuff - I will try and find the book reference.

Update:-

I think the book was:-

http://www.amazon.com/The-Hot-Zone-T.../dp/0385479565

As some of the reviews say - a truly terrifying read.
