Default zt rear smiley plate

Hi,have a rear smiley plate to replace old style one.is it just a case of using old plate as a template to drill holes as long as they are in centre.or is there a size I should work to,regards

My original rectangular plate was affixed with screws, so I did exactly that, used it as a template. After all, the holes are already there so might as well make use of them.
At least I'm sure it can't just fall off...

No Brian, they don't fall off they are special digits that can't be seen by Cameras, only with eyes in real time activated by a hidden switch...

It won't (fall off when using number plate tape), No holes drilled in my boot lid, took a good 20 minutes with the dental floss getting the old plate off, cleaned everything up and taped as per Greeners advice above with proper number plate tape. Spent the next month worrying that it would fall off.... it didn't, and still hasn't over 2 years and 40k miles later. The front is fixed the same and that hasn't moved either. and no rusty screws in my boot lid. (plenty of rusty bits underneath the car if you care to look underneath, but not too bad. )

I didn't say "It will fall off", I said "It can't fall off".

And in my case the holes were already there. If they hadn't been I certainly wouldn't have drilled any.

I've used number plate tape for years. Never had a plate stolen, never had a plate fall off. No rusty screw holes either
