Default Sat nav not working.

Hi all. Hope someone can help. I've got an 03 plate ztt with factory sat nav which won't display navigation. There appears to be a disc in the player in the boot but it won't eject. Anyone got any idea's wot could be wrong. Many thanks in anticipation. Neil.

Hi, a couple of questions, how do you know that there's a disc in the sat nav if it won't eject, it might just be empty? Never mind whether or not there's a disc in it does it show in the menu list on the head unit? It should show on the menu even without a disc (it'll tell you it needs the disc if you select it I think). If it's not showing on the menu then first stop is to check for damp in the boot. You will have to remove the nav computer to check behind it, follow shutdown procedure properly (with the boot open turn off the car and wait 5 minutes, the red led on the unit should go out. Do not disturb any doors or the boot or bonnet while waiting) Do not attempt to disconnect the sat nav while the red led is lit.

Water can get in from the waist trim strip (tighten up inside nuts and add sealant) the boot vents (re-seal) the rear light seals (common - search the forum for how to fix) and sometimes the rear window seal.

Check for water in the spare wheel well this is where the rest of the system is (tv and radio units).
