Default News from Auto Shanghai

Noticed that our local newspaper reported on the recent Shanghai Motor Show.
In 2009 China surpassed the U.S. to become the largest car manufacturer in the world.
The scale of the Auto Shanghai is huge – covering 18 halls and 1,300 cars.
It reported that Roewe (part of the huge SAIC complex) produces some of the higher quality cars in China and the Roewe cars are being “reserved as a premium brand for the Australian market only”.

Well thats crazy if you dont mind a mere pom interjecting the uk was home of the rover and the roewe 750 would have sold like hotcakes here it seems that they are not interested in the uk market as MG sales have been dismal to say the least & the designers need to be more innovative not re invent the vauxhall !! but Im glad youy guys will be getting the new roewes even if they are on a buick platform

Default An Australian Journalists Road Test of the MG6

Road Test of MG6.
Noticed this road test in my local Australian newspaper.
You may like to read the journalists opinion.

"It may wear an MG badge but this Chinese sedan lacks appeal".

http://news.drive.com.au/drive/new-c...809-2rlbc.html
Verdict:
Scored 2 stars out of possible 5.
It's an MG, but not as we know it. It's not a bad car, but ....
There's also the question of whether it lives up to the badge, which is the most British part of the car.

As I've posted on many an occasion, if it had a SAIC badge on it, no one would even mention it on here!
