Replacing VDO CR213X
Hi All,
I got a ZT-T a couple of weeks ago, never owned one before or even an MG. I bought a Sony GT560UI CD head unit to replace the CR213X, it slotted straight in and two of the three connectors plugged straight in to the Sony unit. But there is nowhere for the yellow, green and blue connector to go. Bit ****** off as the 6 disc changer doesn't work and nether do the steering wheel controls. Does anyone know what head units work with 6 disk changer and steering wheel controls. |

Welcome! the colour plugs are indeed for the remote on the steering wheel. I think you can buy an adapter on the bay to help you sort this.
maybe a fellow forum member can help you. |

Hi Again,
I'm going round in circles a bit with thinking about upgrading the stereo and speakers. I took the Sony unit back as didn't like it, is all standard again. I want a CD headunit with a USB input. Replacement speakers front and rear. MDF speaker mounts. Steering wheel control of stereo. My car seems to have ISO connectors as pictured above, and I can buy and fit the MDF mounts no problem. |

The steering wheel control cables are Blue/Purple and Blue/Orange. If they are in the green mini ISO connector you need an Autoleads PC99-X39 or an Incartec 29-631 adapter lead, in each case you will need their patch cable for whichever make of stereo you get.

This is what confuses me, the car has ISO cables as standard, why do I need more ISO cables to connect to ISO cables??

You dont need ISO cables, if the steering wheel control cables are in the green mini ISO connector, you wil need an adapter lead with a matching mini ISO connector.

I would guess that your Sony unit has a small jack socket for the steering wheel controls.
To make it compatable with the ZT wiring you would need a interface unit [as described by Raykay] to connect between the steering wheel control wires, blue/purple and blue/orange to the small jack socket. Also your CD changer will not work with a Sony unit. . A unit from Sean [Radioguy] will do everything you request Dave T Last edited by Duotone; 13th May 2013 at 17:08.. |
