Are there any 75's in America?
As above, did any make it across the pond?

If memory serves there is a thread somewhere about this.
I don't think they were exported to the states as such but I think someone said there were a few that had been shipped privately. |

There is a ZT-T 260 apparently shipped to Rousch for mapping purposes, I have seen for sale adverts occasionally.

So why did they never go ahead with their plans to launch in the states?

I questioned this on a recent visit to California. I think the main reason was because MGR never filed for our cars to be imported and as such they don't adhere to the Compliance Act of 1988, which includes stringent bumper standards and emissions tests.

The MG's definately made it to Mexico, though; I did hear a few years ago that Americans were buying MG's across the border and driving them over and as long as they didn't stay in the country more than so many months per year, they could use them.

I heard that it was part of BMW's conditions, (of the take-over) that an export market to the States was forbidden...
I believe if it was pursued it would have saved Rover - I think the Yanks would have loved them!
