Default Zt-t v8

Sorry to be a pain guys, but it's a big decision. I've been considering this one as well.

I never thought about a ZT-T but my son came up with it. Unfortunately my "other" car is black, but I guess I could have a set. There is a certain appeal to having an estate that does 0-62 in 6.odd secs.

I have never seen a ZT-T V8. Anything I should be aware of?

Looks a nice car for not a lot of money.

Normal stuff that's worn out on a 100,000 mile car.

The heater valve is apparently a problem on these cars (unless it has the black olive mod) check the diff for leaks and expect the charging warning light to come occasionally (normal apparently!)

The engine's are fairly bullet proof providing it's had clean oil in it and it's not been over-revved!

£3,500 max though!

Sadly that one's already sold I phoned up about it as soon as I saw it, had it still been available it would be outside my house right now!

I'll do it. Just constantly trawling the internet for a car. The charging light, is that because of the dodgy alternator. It seems most have it rebuilt.

Charging light lighting up every now and again is a feature of the car.
Just letting you know it's still alive.

When on permanent you have a problem.

Another example of trying to make an American ECU talk to an English car via a German gateway ecu

dont know where you read that most have the alternator rebuilt, as thats total rubbish. Get yourself over to Two-Sixties and start reading facts not fiction like that

I've read it in about 3 adverts so far saying "alternator rebuilt at x miles". A bit like cam belts changed...... or head gasket changed.........depending on the engine type.

One (alternator) was even rebuilt just after it was bought brand new, sure he said it was a common problem. He implied he fixed it before it broke. I therefore don't need to spend hours on various websites. It maybe fiction, I have no idea, so why do so many I've read say it?

Charging warning light...........alternator rebuilds, I put 2 and 2 together. Simples. Sorry if it upsets you, but only going by the ads.

As Herman & Colin have said the charging light flashing is just a glitch of the system on all the V8's.

I've not heard of any problems with the alternators on the V8's and I owned one for two years - 3 adverts out of 883 cars doesn't really make it a common problem IMHO.

Well glad to hear it. If it's not a problem then I don't need to worry about it.
