Default 1.8T Dodgy TPS Found

Hello All,
I replaced the TPS today with a second hand one I have in the hope that it may fix an occasional intermittent dead stop on acceleration from 0mph (even possible engine stall).
I measured the TPS across the outer connection and found it measured approx. 4K ohms. Not sure what the value should be but I took it as correct.

Then I connected one probe to the centre terminal with the TPS turned fully to one side and again measured near enough the 4k. ok

I then adjusted the TPS in the opposite direction and as expected the resistance reduced towards zero, but in my case as the value approached 60 ohms and continuing to turn the POT the value increase to 170 ohm and not zero as expected! This is obviously not correct and that’s why I thought it worth mentioning.

This ties up with the area of the TPS when the throttle is fully closed.

Not sure if it’s fixed the niggling problem but hopefully will find out soon.
Keep you posted.

If you do change it make sure you recal the TPS.
