Uh ohhh. The ladies insurance (morethan) said they would act on the Ladies behalf........(hangs garlic round neck)......
She then got a call from a salvage Co asking her to leave the keys with the car so they could collect it.... ??????? WTH??? Fortunately she heard the word "salvage" and asked if they were going to repair her car, and would she get it back safely?....... They replied that she would NOT be getting it back and they do not repair cars.... The lady told em to forget it. No way she allowing anyone to scrap her car!! They said OK, they would cancel and contact Morethan again... She is now waiting to hear from them.... Some insurance Co's have no idea innit... ... They won't even consider fixing it as it's worth nowt. It'd cost them more than it's worth just to get a sharp intake of breath type estimate from a repairer.
You'll get offered about £200 if your lucky.....plus it would take forever to get fixed anyway coz the pervading smell of fish & chips will mean they'll keep stopping for breaks down the cafe.... Shame really I like zx's. Get a xantia next time....

Cheeky mare!! A Citroen ZX 1.9D Aura automatic with front fogs and ally wheels will set you back more than £1,000.. if --- You can even find one for sale!!
Odd as it may seem, all the ZX diesels are going up in price, not long ago they were topping out at £500 ish, now even a half decent manual one will cost you £1,000 ish... Xantias? Nah, the weird suspension system puts people right off them.. The ZX is a far more reliable car innit... Read the froggy forums, it's rare to see a ZX with a problem, but loads of Xantia break downs being reported daily innit.. And locally, there are still loads of ZX's around.. ... ... |

The "other car" was a Toyota, and it was reversing at the time and suffered very little damage, and, as it's a fleet vehicle, the firm concerned are not bothering to get it repaired..

This saga gets dafter by the day!!
After several phone calls between the various parties concerned, and the owner making it very clear she intends to keep the car no matter what the Insurers say. Morethan have decided what's to be done ---- The planned chain of events is as follows.. -- The salvage Co are coming to collect the ZX using a Piggy-back truck tomorrow.. Then said car will be held at their yard untill an estimator gets time to inspect and asses the damage.. He will then inform Morethan, who will then negotiate with the owner.. After agreement over money has been reached, the owner will get her car delivered back to her, plus a cheque to the (agreed) value of the car less it's scrap value.. Meanwhile a hire car will be suppied and delivered tomorrow.... No wonder our costs are sky high innit.... I actually called them and asked them why an assessor couldn't call to look at the car here... No one could answer that... Doo'hhh... ... |

The lady had a letter yesterday, it was a sort of questionnaire, aimed at keeping accident repair costs down.. Not actually read it yet but apparently it asks things like, "do you really need a hire car" "Do you have another car you could use" "Is your car drivable" if so, can you manage with it untill repairs are organised" etc etc..
All very commendable, except, Morethan have already taken her car away and delivered a hire car! against the ladies wishes I might add.. Do'hhh.. Makes ya wanna weep innit.... ... |
