Been looking at the DM-1, a bit more than what i originally wanted to pay but, seem to have all the benefits of the smaller netbook but with good laptop performance, are there different versions of the DM_1 i cant find the 10 hour battery version, thanks for your comments everyone.
regards
Gary

Thats the problem with HP, there are about a million different versions of the same device with no obvious name change. I got mine at Staples of all places, on a random visit, for £327! 3GB of RAM, 250GB hard drive and 10hr battery.

Left field suggestion.

Dixons are currently doing 20% off all refurbs (it goes through when you go through the checkout) for today only.

They did this a few weeks back, I got an Acer 4820T for £279.99 - it's a fair bit larger than a netbook (14" screen), but it's a LOT faster (2.26 GHz i3 CPU) and it still has a really good battery life (~8 hours).

Although it says refurbished, it looks brand new to me, all the stickers & protective stuff on there. And when I ran it through the system at work, it's not showing as being returned, but discontinued so I think it's just a way to clear old stock...

http://www.dixons.co.uk/gbuk/acer-as...04418-pdt.html

RRP for one new, £479.99. Dixons do the refurb for £349.99, and then with the 20% off it comes in at £279.99 - but I appreciate with the size it's not for everyone (truth be told its probably a bit too big for me, but for the price it was rude not too)

hI jakg
sounds like an absolutly blinding deal you couldn't walk away from that, just suggested it to SWMBO and she doesn't like the idea of a refurb even though yours is actually new, thanks for the suggestion though.

Used a MSI Wind U100 for year and a half and no issues what so ever for web browsing and xvids. Plays flash fine, ideal for simply tasks. Bought for £100 December 2009, was a little bargain! Runs XP, 1GB RAM & Atom. Friend has the newer U130 running Windows 7 Lite and thats slow as hell.
