Groan: Auto Rear Mirror - Gentex 117

It's the wires coming out of my mirror that are the problem, as they are completely different colours to the ones mentioned. The colours and wiring in my car match the guides, but the ones on the mirror do not.
I've even been on the BMW forums as i'm certain this mirror came out of one, but cant find out which Pins are for what.

I have this on the mirror, sorry its dark

Blue/Yellow is Live,
Purple/White is Reverse Lamp
Brown/Orange is Earth

I connected using this layout and it didn't seem to work. I covered up the light sensor on the back, then shone a torch to hopefully see it activate. It did look green but couldn't be sure it had dimmed as I'd dazzled myself with the torch. Doh
