Default getting my prized 75 back on the road...

Hi guys,

I'd appreciate any help/thoughts/comments.

My 2.5 V6 Conn SE (2000) has a dead clutch; it just slips so there's almost no drive to the wheels.

Could you tell me

[a] what parts I'll need?
[b] a good place to get them from?
[c] roughly the sort of hours I'm looking at paying at a garage?
[d] any special tips/tricks involved in fitting a new clutch?

My car has cruise control. 64,000 miles.

Also, the VIS motors are rattling - where can I buy these new?

I'd much appreciate your help, as the Rover's been off the road for nearly a year now and I can't wait to get it back going again.

cheers,

David

If you can trust them then try Mr Clutch for a quote for changing the clutch.

Whoever does it you may find that cruise does not work - this is because the switch on the clutch pedal is not correctly positioned.

Unfortunately for you lot, we are now stuck behind a broken train. We'll be here for quite a while but I don't care, I'm now on overtime.

I've heard some less than flattering things about Mr Clutch, which is why I'd be grateful for advice on all the parts I'd need to get the job done, and also the length of the job so I can get my local mechanic to do it!
