Hi Chris and welcome to the forums,

you can get a new key from any of the Xpart service centers near you,But the problem is that it'll cost you £170 - £200 for one and will take a few days as the key has to be sourced from Germany.

We have a few members that can help you out with ordering a new key

Lates is a member and you can see his website here www.lates600.com

Hi Chris, welcome, sound advice from a moderator there.

You may wish to add to your avatar where you are based, helps people to help you. also meets are organised nationwide on a regular basis, just for a cuppa and a chat, you would be more than welcome

Yes the key is dear but think what would you do if you lose your key or if you lock your key inside the car.

Chris, the problem is that although you may have a correct type key, and get it cut to the same as your other key, it won't work properly unless it is coded to your individual car immobiliser code. That's why it costs so much money.

As i understand it there is no cheap fix for keys, the key has to be ordered and it has to be the correct key for the car as the car has to be coded to the key not the other way round.

The bar code only relates to the remote functions of the fob to enable it to be programmed by T4 and the blank key blade can be cut to enable opening of the doors.

But the immobiliser chip in the fob will not match your car so you will not be able to start the car. That is why the keys have to be ordered from Germany as they hold the immobiliser code database and will supply a key that has the matching immobiliser code.
