Exclamation V8 Owners - Weak Hose Warning!!!

Don't know if anyone has said this before, but to be sure. A couple of days ago a large amount of steam engulfed me whilst pottering about in Cardiff. Under the bonnet it was obvious that the hose that runs from the back of the offside bank of the V8 to the heater valve on the nearside bulkhead had exploded. No warning, no reason. My car has only done 18K and I would expect a hose to last longer. The replacement was best part of £80. The new hose itself is very weak and soft, not what I would expect. I believe this hose is a potential weak point. Anybody know of any aftermarket hose sets for the ZT V8? Rob

Get yourself over to the www.two-sixties.com as its a well document thing, as well as the up rated hose that most owners have now fitted, you could have brought 3 for that money. Good thing to join up as there are lots more interesting things that you may not know

Its good that you have the community spirit to warn fellow owners of this weak point Monster. However it also perhaps shows that we need to put a bit more effort in pushing the Two-Sixties so more people can come into the 'collective' and find out more about their V8's. If you look at the sticky in the V8 forum here it will assist you in looking at other aspects of the car and things to check as part of your inspections. Do look because there are other things you do need to check, fuel filter, rear springs, .......... http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...ad.php?t=25229

£80 We have a high performance hose which is a straight replacement for £40 to owner members. Black Olive has developed a superior heater valve to deal with the poor performing OM item. I could go on but really to stress the point that on the outside people will flounder without support.

Why don't people read the stickies? If only to save money
