I'm thinking about painting the dash panels on the Shot Silk green (like poledrivers), in which case the black oak would find its way into the 260... now if only i could find some seats in Oyster Alcantara

I know you'll hate me even more now Carl

Rub it in why don't you!

Actually though, I'm a bit tempted to paint my old wood dash Gloss Piano Black like you get in Range Rovers.. Think it could look rather nice in my Raven 75..

I still hate you though

Here's some pics

Oyster Alcantara (and black oak) for Merl and the Rover 75 Design Theme concept interior for Carl (it had a piano black dash, note how the window switch bank is painted but not the lock button/Hazard switch surround)

I like the pianno black interior. I'dhate to try and re-create that myself. I doubt you'd be able to get th efinish done professionally enough.
Perhaps in a body shop it could be done.

Both the late 40s/early 50s "Y" saloon and the later ZA saloon both had walnut dashboards as standard. Always felt the 75/ZT had design cues from the ZA saloon even though it was 50 years earlier - look at it in Google Images.

I think Rover should have offered a modern "HiTech/Germanic" dash and trim or the traditional walnut cabin fit out on both models from the very start. Might have attracted more from the younger market - and offset some of the damaging criticism from Clarkson. Might have had an MG if I could have had the wood 'n' leather.
