I see you are a teacher. So yes, busking in York will probably be financially more rewarding and you'll get more respect for your talent.

Default Busking

Very astute! I loved teaching (retired from teaching a couple of years ago) but still work a school sorting out the work experience placements and events at school, this is more of a challenge than maintaing a ZT! Prepandemic I sorted out 350 work placements, all the health and safety checks and then Covid struck! 9 months work cancelled in 3 minutes on a PC!! Spent the rest of lockdown looking for virtual work expeinces!

A former music teacher colleague was once caught live on BBC News busking on Blackpool Pier when a party conference was tsking, he should have been in school!!
I have been know to impress with my rock msic impressions during charity weeks, so busking seems a good money raising scheme!

Default Work on my V6

The work is being done at ETS in Richmond, North Yorkshire, North East Engine repairs are fixing the heads. They have done a lot of work on all our MGRovers over the years and have got me out of a pickle many a time! I really trust them to do a good job.

Just saying:
I have twice had problems with the engine in the MG F.
Once an old belt failed. 67000km about 20 years, frosty morning, car caughed and would not start. Stripped off 7 teeth at the bottom of the belt on the lower sprocket.
I took everything to pieces expecting bent valves!! Nothing wrong! I could just have put on a new belt.
Second problem on an F as well, but a different car, a new belt, driving and an almighty screech, engine died with clutch depressed coasted to the side of the road. Turned out a small bolt had got jammed in between the waterpump cog and the belt, jammed the cog solid against the housing of the pump. The belt came halfway off, and skipped over several teeth on the pump, the belt was in tatters on the one half side.
This time, I tested to check for bent valves, with compressed air.
I could not believe it, but all valves were straight.
I would have sworn it was impossible, but clearly it was not!

So, before you condemn the engine, maybe make a quick check?
(I have not read the whole thread! so you might have done so, anyway just for information!)

Default Good News!

Good news! After 14 weeks, a prostrate operation (Terry at ETS in Richmond) and lots of sad things happening in the world in between, I finally have my ZT back on the road. North East Engine Repairers did an excellent job salvaging my heads and it is now purring like a kitten.
Now saving up to repay my overdraft and also saving up to fill it full of fuel! I've even washed and hoovered it!
I hope to be taking it to events the summer.
Best wishes
To all
Bob
