Agreed, best to change it before it goes and the two piece steel land rover gasket comes with the steel dowels if not already fitted.

The MLS type was designated to be introduced by Powertrain for the EU4 engine.
However, they closed just before this engine was built for MGR applications.
the reason it is in the Landrover is because they have the EU4 engine.

That is how production used to run at Powertrain. They built a certain run of engines and would then swap over.

The MLS apart, I understood that the elastomer ringed gasket was changed for a more conventional one at a later stage. If so, I would presume these later ones are less prone to failure? I'm trying to figure out what version is fitted to my 2004 1.8T Connoisseur.
