Agreed, best to change it before it goes and the two piece steel land rover gasket comes with the steel dowels if not already fitted.

The MLS apart, I understood that the elastomer ringed gasket was changed for a more conventional one at a later stage. If so, I would presume these later ones are less prone to failure? I'm trying to figure out what version is fitted to my 2004 1.8T Connoisseur.
