Default Ball Joint Shaft

The shaft of a ball joint has a point where a spanner can be used to stop shaft from turning when undoing the nut.
I know the nuts can be differant sizes but the spanner size on the shaft seems to be 14mm.
Is this the size on all ball joint shafts?
Reason for asking is because I need to get a slim open ended spanner to fit the shaft of a ball joint. A normal size spanner is to thick and moves the rubber cap off its mounting point, and it's a paint to relocate.

Some have a hexagonal hole in the end for an allen key.

Which ball joint do you mean? Are you referring to the inner track rod ball?

The ball joint on a drop link has varying sizes depending on the manufacturer.

So sounds like a set of slim spanners should go on the wanted list.

Or a Dremel with a cutting wheel on it.

Stahlwhille used to do a nice range of thin spanners. Not sure if they still do as I have had mine for well over thirty years mind.
