![]() Rover 75 diesel.
Have been doing some work recently in preparing for the Mot. The handbrake light comes on normally when starting but stays on indicating a fault somewhere. This usually indicates worn pads but this is not the case here. My question can the handbrake light come on for any other reason. There is a connection near the base of the handbrake lever, could the fault be in there? Any comments appreciated. Firefrost |

![]() Check the brake fluid. it doesn't indicate worn pads, that's a different symbol.

![]() There is a switch on the lever. It could be that.

![]() No, The brake fluid is on the max line. A switch at the bottom of the lever, yes that is what I was referring to. It is in a nice dry clean place but not easy to get to. I wonder if that is the only other item that can bring up a fault?
