Default Ungrateful diesel

So today I treated the car to a new u.b.p (peirburg) new fuel filter new side repeater lenses (thanks Mat) and new headlight bulbs. Now it refuses to start, is not pumping much fuel through into bottle on test and is showing the E.M.L. Have tried old U.B.P and the issue remains. Any ideas welcome. thanks. Lee.

Default Fuel

Hi
Sounds like air in the system or intank fuel pump caput have you more than a 1/4 of a tank in ?
Or
I had this issue with one of Ken's cars and it turned out to be a faulty fuel pump
When I change things like this now I change the fuel filter and make sure the engine starts and runs for a couple of minutes then change the pump .
If your old filter is still serviceable I would put things back as they were and try and start the car
Regards
Steve

Thanks for reply. The problem is the Eml being on, I suspect I've disturbed something somewhere. There is almost a full tank of fuel and it was running fine last night, I only changed a few parts that should not affect engine management. Lee

When you changed the UBP did you remove the clear plastic end caps that protect the pipe inlet and outlet on the new pump?

If not they can block the hoses and prevent fuel flowing through.

Problem was the fuel filter was not being primed, removed it filled with diesel and away she went. Never had this problem with any other filter change on this car. Thanks for replies guys.
