Default Fake Autoglym Polish???

My last bottle of Autoglym seemed very watery compared with previous. (All smelled and polished up same eventually) Does anyone know if there are fakes around or is it just a bad batch??? Everything was sealed and the container is a perfect match to old one.

Auto gym does go watery over time. I think if it's stored in the cold it's worse as my last bottle and my current bottle were stored in the garage and both went watery

Maybe it just needed a really good shake, mix it up a bit ?

However, was your latest bottle bought from a reliable source ? I've seen a few of the 'Fake Britain' programmes on the telly lately and it seems just about everything is being copied nowadays (....even complete ice cream vans, I kid you not...!!! ) The fraudsters are very clever, even down to things like security seals, marks and labels

Interestingly, the programme would indicate that the vast majority of fake items seem to be available via the internet auction sites, meaning any come-back on the seller is difficult, if not impossible.

I guess we need to look at the importance and price of any item, before deciding where to buy - I bought a complete clutch & DMF for the Discovery recently from a good, local motor factors (Mill Autos) having confirmed it was a genuine Valeo kit (Land Rover OEM). I could have probably saved a few quid buying off the internet, but the amount of work involved in a swap would never justify saving maybe £100

super resin polish will go very watery. it seems to settle at the bottom and a very hard good shake, if it's not too late (damage because of cold and frost) .

extra gloss protection is watery though.

I had the same issue wit a tin of collenite i bought from ebay, im sure there are some counterfeit products going about.

I use cleanyourcar.co.uk for all cleaning stuff now, never had issue and great service.

I have a 1 litre bottle of SR polish which is much thinner than when I bought it probably 12 months ago. Even after a good shake it's thin. Still seems to work okay.
I agree with Trikey, buy your goods from a detailing supplier of note and you won't go far wrong.
