As for connecting it directly to the BM54......... HELP? Could you possibly point me in the right direction as to how I can accomplish this? Would I be correct in one of my earlier musings as to be able to splice into the adapter cable from round to flat pin? I did plan on adding the clock module in if I could find the relevant information, and the adapter loom seems ideally suited to it as I can work on it away from the car. I freely admit mucking about with wiring is an achilles heel, so any foolproof info appreciated |

I remember just picking up the wiring matching diagram between flat and round pins systems and splicing the adapter where needed to get the audio/ibus/power/gnd wires for the Intravee. The 3-pin and 6-pin plugs for the Intravee were sourced from eBay. I have the clock module as well.

AH HA!!!!!!
By jove I think I've fixed it! I was pondering over how best to tackle this, browsing the forums and posts and started looking at the Rover 10 to BMW 6 & 3 pin adapter / loom I had. I was looking at cutting it so I could splice it in, when I decided to check the wiring and see if I could work out which wire was which. It was at this point that I realised that some of the pins had been populated incorrectly - things just didn't seem to match the pin allocation on one of the threads. Not being the most confident I checked it over a few times and finally decided that I was correct, some pins were in the wrong place. I then started wondering if that was the cause of the issue in the first place, so I went through step by step and moved wires around until everything made sense and matched the guidance I had found. Then, nipped out to the car, plugged everything in and......... SORTED!!! WOOOO HOOOO!!! No more Ibus noise and a much more stable display, everything now seems to be working correctly which I am really pleased about. I was so chuffed I decided to wire in the clock module that I had, and again, just took my time, double checked everything and that is now in and working correctly too! Double WOOOO HOOOO!!! |
