Default clicking noise on head unit

Dear forum,

I have an after market head unit with an i pod lead. I have replaced the lead because the old one got chewed up . When i play the i pod now i get a constant clicking noise all the time which is really annoying. Any suggestions as to how to get rid of it.

Cheers
