Post Common Rail Fuel System

HISTORY - A research company by the name of Elasis in Naples , developed common rail technology. In 1993 the italians produced a prototype of their new fuel injection system. Problems with the tolerances of the injectors stopped the planned volume production and prompted the search for a partner at the turn of the year 1993/94. Bosch bought the patents and took over Elasis. Bosch presented the new system of the market one year earlier than any other manufactures.

And RoverMG were the first British car maker, aka B*W, to use the system in the 75 diesel.

I think B*W made a mistake when they put common rail tech into our cars. It was to good. I don't think they realised what they had done at first. I for one am glad that they did.
