The rear window is not leaking at all.
Shortly after buying my car I bought a rubber boot liner. It was soon obvious that there was a slight leak from the rear window seal as I had two small pools of water collected on the rubber liner directly under the area where the boot light is. I could feel up inside around the lips and a couple were wet. Not being competent or confident enough to do Rich's superb 'how to' I used Captain Tolleys Creeping Crack cure all around the window seal. For anyone who hasn't tried this stuff, I can tell you it is amazing, creeps into the tiniest gap and seals like a glue. After that I have had no water ingress from that area at all and feeling up inside it's bone dry. As I said the water after 24 hours of rain amounted to about half an egg cup so very little. I reversed my gaskets after gluing the split and thoroughly cleaning the whole area in accordance with advice from others who have successfully done this. So my latest exercise was to strip out the boot lining and silicone all the places referred to on here in the many threads. My aim being to have it dry before winter sets in

One of the mechanics was Russian and we got on well with him because he turned out to be flexible and did the job extremely well running the car through one of the car wash tunnels that we have over here after the job was completed. All was watertight. Previously we had done the rear light gaskets which were also leaking like a sieve. |

I had a small leak on my ZT under ther rear seat and could not figure where the moisture was coming in from until when doing some work on the fuel filter noticed there is a bolt hole right next to some sound deadner material which has a bit of plastic stuck over it.It is factory fitted as it has paint on it but it had lifted a little allowing water to flick up in wet weather. When I peeled it back I could see day light. Re glued it down and been fine since. Not sure why the bolt holes are there but its the same on my 75 so must have been going to be there for somthing.
