i would have pushed for the other side to be replaced at the same time though

i think id go back and ask them to replace the other and give them the voucher back, the mechanic being sacked, both struts replaced and no further action by you would be a fair outcome for both parties in my opinion

I think I will try to do that monday, will see are they will be agree with that.

I think you should - what happened here, to you, is the reason why I try to do as much myself as reasonably possible. I changed my drop links by this method and took great care to avoid 'peripheral damage'.

The Garage owner knows his MOT licence is on the line here - as indeed it should be! The garage has a duty of care to you, the customer, to do a good job. They failed miserably in this regard.

Whoever signed off the MOT will be feeling very vulnerable right now......

And IMHO - struts should be replaced as pairs as should pretty much all suspension components.

Usually I'am doing things by my self, this time I couldn't open any bolt on my wishbones and my MOT was nearly finished, so I decided to give that job for garage. Then they advised me to change the drop link, so I went for it...
