True I don't know, I only assumed as it is louder than my 800 fan kicking in and you can hear it in the cabin with the windows up lol, so I have already ordered a gold one from jules, so looks like I have a spare if there is no way I can ascertain if my resistor is working or not as at idle and demist the speed sounds the same as at 100*c when the fan kicks in.
Can a T4 report if it's faulty ? Thanks

It's unwise to make assumptions based on the behaviour of a different vehicle.

If you want to trigger the high speed, remove the trinary switch connector and join together pins 2 and 3. The wiring colours are black (pin 2) and yellow with a grey tracer (pin 3), but beware! There is another wire coloured grey with a yellow tracer so make sure that you get the right one Quote:

Well we've established the fan is operating at a speed, although there may be some doubt as to whether that is slow or not

As far as I can see, there's no way the fast speed could be triggered by the de-mist test or the 100 degree working temperature. If you do the trinarry test, all will be revealed, but I'm not sure why you would need to do it.
Are you having any overheating problems? Steve |

Thanks all looks like I now have a gold resistor for the parts bin, fan kicks in at 100 and then off at 95 I think, the only reason I thought it was broken was that it's fast and loud at 100 and I thought that was the high speed and the low speed would be quitter and slower.
What got me started questioning this was that whenever I put the aircon on the fan would kick in and as a new owner you question every little thing lol
