Default MG ZT-T diesel losing power

I've decided to start a new thread to save confusion on this issue.
At the moment, the only problems I have is the amb temp reading being out (will replace the sensor) and more important, the car is still stuttering badly !
It starts fine but intermittently lacks power and stutters.
I've discovered that if I disconnect the fuel rail sensor connector and reconnect, it runs like a dream for anything from 5 minutes to a week.
I took advice and cleaned the connections with halfords contact cleaner and it ran fine for about a week, but then back to stuttering.
Every time it stutters, I disconnect the plug and re-connect and it's instantly fine for however long it chooses..... any ideas would be very much appreciated, my wife is gradually losing confidence in the car and I love it, really don't want to change !

I would suggest this is the fuel rail pressure sensor faulty, they are typically faulty more in the freelander for some reason from experience.

It maybe sending a incorrect signal back to the ecu

Have you checked the wiring to the fuel rail pressure sensor? I'm a Land Rover tech and I've lost count of how many M47 Freelanders and Range Rovers (TD6) I've seen with this issue. My dad had the same problem on his TD6 and in the end cut out altogether. Got it into work and the wiring had been bodged beofre so we fitted an overlay harness to the ECU and it's been fine ever since. The insulation around the wiring tends to break around an inch from the connector and can get corroded and change the resistance in the wires causing the ECU to receive mixed readings on the fuel pressure. If you have an OBD scanner then try plugging it in and playing about with the wiring to see if the value dramatically changes.

Hope this helps! Rosswalki
