Strange it hasn't found it's way down south too
It is the new level and not just for the festive period.

Holyrood approached Westminster to jointly lower the limit and were told it would not change in the rest of the UK.

Lowering the level is a mistake by the Scottish Government (IMO). They should have gone straight for a complete zero limit.

It's a missed oppertunity for the Scottish Government because;
1. A lower level still leaves people guessing if they can drive or not.
2. There is still no powers for Police to carry out random alcohol testing so people will continue to drink and drive knowing the Police need to find a reason to stop them. A lot of drink drivers get home without being stopped. If random road blocks/testing stations were set up people are at higher risk of being caught if guided through a proper set road side testing proceedures. I spent a month in Australia and was stopped three times during that time at road side testing (three negative readings). Thats how drink drivers are caught!

Zero limit is the way to go but the guessing will continue for drinkers.

You might be interested to hear that the adult legal limit for breath alcohol here in New Zealand was dropped from 400mg to 250 mg from the first of December.
There has already been one reported 'capture' of an over limit person!
I personally hardly ever drink.....a bottle of liquer (Baileys) is my only vice!
I don't like beer either!
Plus, for many years I drove heavy transport vehicles for a living.....so needed my license!
I have always been what you could call a cheap drunk......no alcohol tolerance, I learnt very very quickly at a young age that drinking made me fall asleep, and I missed all the fun. So I was quickly made the 'sober driver' by my friends!

We got hit by a drunk driver in 2010, who was three times over the limit. Destroyed our car, then span off us and hit another car that was behind us.

My wife broke her sternum, I shattered my wrist and thumb joint, which, eventually, led to me losing my job. The woman in the car behind broke her arm.

We were lucky!

Believe it or ot there are those who are against the legislation

According to the news this morning the new rules mean one pint could put you over the limit. In other words don't do it.

George, do you do runs down to Ayrshire?

I came back home the other day in a taxi and they police were pulling people over but as I was in a taxi they just waved it on by.

I woke up with a massive hangover, looked in the garage and wondered where the hell I got the taxi from
