Is there any way to turn off the predictive text? It's a total pain in the butt

nearly every post ends up with typos due to it

General settings, you will find the options in keyboard.

Worth noting, press the world symbol left of the space bar, this will scroll through US & English spelling, which might be why your predictive text is incorrect.
