Maybe a nuclear missile or two as well. We really need those don't we?

This is such a waste of our Money.
We seem to pour money into every other Country except our Own.
The General Election can't come quick enough for me,
I think even the British National Party may end up with a Seat if the Government doesn't sort THIS Countries problems out first.

If MP's got paid on results like the rest of us,
They would all be down the Dole office!

Yes, it's such a waste of money:

Chairman James Arbuthnot said: "Few people will object to the investment being made in better facilities and equipment for our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

So, we could still send them out there and not give them the kit & equipment to do the job, that'd save a few quid eh.

Not give them nice ISO containers to live in, make them sleep on the floor.

That figure also includes damages awarded to injured servicemen & the families of killed personnel.

Whilst I applaud any opportunity to properly kit out our lads and lasses of the armed forces, the fact remains that they're in Iraq due to Bliar's insistence of WMDs that didn't exist. So IMHO they're there under false pretences. These 'wars on terrorism' are just another excuse to line the pockets of defence contractors and corporations. Halliburton? Kellogg Brown & Root?

My point was that our service personnel should not.
a:- be involved in Americas illegal war in Iraq over oil.
b:- be involved in Americas vendetta against it's alleged enemies in Afganistan.
c:- Nor should we be carrying an alleged independent nuclear deterrent, supplied by US at enormous cost, which in all likelihood can be disabled should they choose to do so.

UK used to have some integrity in these matters and deny assistance when it was not in our own interest to be involved. I would say more but the tenure of my argument would tend towards a general rant about politicians and not the point I was trying to make.

Our armed forces should be equipped to the highest level but not used other than for policing trouble spots as in Bosnia.
