Good luck with the restoration

Thamks for that worked a treat, although I had very, very dirt hands when finished

Now hung up ready to be refitted

Plan is to do them in VVHT Aluminum paint, and also when I get new brake discs, will also do the inside rims in that colour as well, not too keen on painting the callipers in red, yellow or blue, like have to them clean and looking nearly as they came out of the factory

Something like my blue ZT

Are you getting a new passenger door or will that one get repaired?

Planning on getting dent master in to see what they can do, as I think it will be cheaper to do that, if more than £100, then will most probably go for a 2nd hand door, but do think that dent master can take out the dents without too much trouble. I had a friend who had his MGF done, and I think it was worst than the red ZT

You can get him to do one dent for around £70, all the whole car for around £120

Will have to wait and see, but wont be until I have done all the mechanical bits, and the underneath and inside wings first

Good morning Stu, when you are doing the engine bay are you going to have the nuts chromed? If so, perhaps you could post up the links? Very cheeky of me to ask

Phil

Yes I have done that, and will post up some photo's later today, have done all the bolts on the slam panel, hood catches, and also the top of each wheel strut

Also I can post up the link of where I got them and which one's you need.

Spent most of yesterday cleaning and painting the underside of the car, and fixing a few small interior problems

Still a bit to do, but slowly getting there, most nights after work have been spent in the man cave

But as a quick link bolts as follows:

M6 Flange bolt x 25mm x 15 (9 x bumper to Slam Panel, two x Slam panel to Wing, and 4 x headlights)

M6 Half penny washer x 21 (15 for above, and then six for the strut top)

M6 Flange bolt x 10 mm x 6 (4 x Bonnet Catch, and 2 x radiator)

M8 nyloc nuts x 6 (Strut top)

M8 Dome nuts x 6 (Strut Top)

M6 Cap Head x 40mm x 6 (2 x bonnet catches x 2, and also 2x for the other bonnet catch)

Default New Project

Phil

As promised, some of the stainless steel bolts I have used on the front end of the car, spent most of the weekend on the car, and I know find I need some more bits, everything I take something off, it seems to get worse, removed front rocker today, and what a state it was in, covered in oil, but the gausses inside were quite clean, luckily I had cleaned one up a couple of weeks ago, and rubbed it down with wire wool, and it looks much better

And the rear wheel arches completed,

Started on the rear sub frame and exhaust as well, so all the rear frame is coated in hammerite krust, after been cleaned as best I could get it, and exhaust has been de-tared, so next couple of nights after work, will be painting the sub frame and then will start to polish up the exhausts, intend to get new brakes this week, so hopefully they will be here by next weekend

I am going for the Mtec brakes, but intend to go for dimpled and grooved, so another couple of hundred pounds lighter

Default New project

A bit more work done today, fitted a complete set of brand new breather pipes, both sets, the small ones and the large one, as the one;s I had were both knackered.

And have also just ordered brand new Brake discs and pads for the car, so I have definitely spent up for this month, and will have to wait until next month for other bits I need, but slowly but surely getting there, finished the underside of the car as well, just the exhausts to clean up, and then most probably after Christmas will get new tyres and have wheels refurbished

There are the brake discs I have just ordered

Stu

PS Will post up some pictures tomorrow, when it is a bit lighter, and I can see what I am doing
