At the end of the day he has no choice but to move the chairs around on the Titanic. This is because the previous government failed to regulate the banks, failed to curb the economy when it was overheating, gave money away left right and center to their own voters to keep them voting for them and sold massive reserves of our gold off at the lowest price for years. Oh and don't forgot which Chancellor failed to assist our sole remaining mass car maker and then let our van make go too. We are paying for their huge mistakes and giveaways and will be for sometime. There is nothing a single person can do to turn around this mess and borrowing heavily like the Shadow Chancellor suggest is madness!

Nice to see that the Foreign Aid (now called "International Development") budget is now "ring-fenced" at 0.7% of GDP, so when you damage your car driving over yet another pot hole in the road, be pleased to know that your Tax take is being spent in China and India, both with economies much larger than ourselves and with such things as Space Programs and Nuclear powered Aircraft Carriers, that alas, we can no longer afford in this Country!

Yep,,mad isnt it.

Giving aid to the country thats sucking the life out of the western world.

Kind of like buying the bullets for your own firing squad. Which coincidentaly is exactly what they make convicted criminals do in China

Stupidest thing ever.. they should be imposing a 3X mortgage limit, and no help at all to buy. The housing market bubble needs a pin taking to it, not taping over the holes!

Thought is wasnt bad personally,

Good news for small employers, although weirdly the big Company Corporation Tax rate is going to be the same as the small company rate.

Rich are always going to get richer and if you make cuts for poor people the rich usually benefit as well. Plus what is wrong with being rich? Just because you have lots of money does that mean you should give it to poor people, just because, well just because its not fair or some such nonsense... They should be paying their fair share but not pay lots of extras just because they have money.

To me it was that imbecile Gordon Brown who naused it all up by forgetting to carry the '1' and doubling the national debt instead of paying it off and oh, his brilliant tactical move to cover his own botty by selling a stack of gold at rock bottom prices!

BBC Calculator says I'm slightly up, only by £120 a year.

Didn't realise I spent £4,736.35 on fuel a year
